Senior club headed to Camp Santanoni

XC-Skiing to Great Camp Santanoni

SARANAC LAKE

The Saranac Village at Will Rogers Senior Outing Club July event will be a horse-drawn wagon trip into Great Camp Santanoni in Newcomb. Constructed in the late 19th century, Camp Santanoni is considered as one of the grandest and most differentiated of the Adirondack Great camps, with many of its historical structures still standing today. The flight costs $30, but for senior citizens over age 65, or anybody with an impairment, there is no charge. A $10 idea is suggested for the motorists and the horses. We’ll have a picnic lunch on the deck of the great camp ($7 per person, or bring your own if you prefer). Please use durable walking shoes, bug repellent and weather condition defense.

The Saranac Village at Will Rogers Senior Outing Club is open to all senior citizens (55) interested in venturing out for moderate activities at different areas around the location. Getaways are held the last Tuesday of the month. The club’s mission is to “use seniors the opportunity to delight in outside experiences with friendship, safety and fun.” Departure from Will Rogers will be at 9 a.m. In order to participate in, appointments can be made by calling 518-891-7117 to register for this trip. All participants should be vaccinated for COVID-19.
